Cross-Culture Series: Communication Strategies Across Global Teams

Program Objective: Provides a foundation for cross-cultural understanding based on the five values that shape cultural behaviors: Identity; Time; Problem-Solving; Decision Making; and Authority. Each value is explored across the major regions of the world. Understanding how these values influence communication across Global Teams provides the groundwork necessary for building cultural awareness and increasing effectiveness when dealing with cross-cultural teams.

  1. Describe how cultural values affect the success of cross cultural meetings:  the impact on establishing goals and objectives, strategy development, problem-solving, decision making and implementation plans.
  2. Implement strategies to influence performance and results in cross-cultural teams: leadership roles; team member relations; motivation; communication
  3. Develop strategies for managing and/or defusing conflict in multicultural teams.
  4. Develop skills for effectively providing feedback to team members of other cultures.
