Team Problem-Solving & Decision Making

How a team approaches a challenge can drive a team to breakthrough performance or move a team into conflict and indecision.  Research demonstrates that the effectiveness of team problem-solving impacts the results of decision making and ultimately the ability to succeed.

Effective decision making requires a two-fold approach that optimizes team performance.  First, team members must increase their awareness and understanding of personal styles and work preferences.  For example, some team members are great at stepping back and looking at the big picture while others push towards action.  To be effective, there needs to be a balance between the two to ensure that the team has the information needed to reach a quality decision while putting it into action within the confines of tight deadlines.  Next, successful teams must have a process in place that provides a framework for effective problem-solving that leads to quality decisions.

When the Team Problem-Solving & Decision Making programs are blended with a profile assessment, teams are able to assess how to come together as a balanced team and drive the foundations of problem-solving into actionable learning outcomes.  Using a combination of assessments and experiential activities, teams place into action the tools and techniques necessary to drive effective decision making in the workplace.
