Using a 4-part model, Corporate Teams delivers results based programming that engages individuals and teams to embrace the concepts of the FIRO-B Profile language and effectively implement strategies upon return to the workplace. The timing of each segment of the 4-part program model is flexible based on half-day versus full day program deliveries. Full day programs allow for the inclusion of more activities in the FIRO-B Adventure Challenge.
THINK FIRO-B Foundation: We kick off the program with an outline of the workshop and how it aligns with the company’s learning objectives. Individuals are able to relax into the process with a fun icebreaker activity that creates a foundation and promotes discussion within the group. The program agenda is reviewed explaining the integration of the FIRO-B Profile with experiential activity and delivery.
ENGAGE FIRO-B Principles: Individual team members are introduced to the FIRO-B concepts and principles while engaging in active discussion, interactive processes, applications to the workplace and action planning. The FIRO-B instrument measures the extent to which people attempt to satisfy three basic social needs: Inclusion (participation, recognition, belonging), Control (power, authority, influence), and Affection (openness, warmth,
closeness). The FIRO-B tool reports on how much one initiates behavior in these
three areas (Expressed Behavior) and how much one would like others to
initiate that behavior toward them (Wanted Behavior).
Once the principles of the FIRO-B have been fully presented and discussed with the group, we will distribute individual FIRO-B reports based on the online instrument completed prior to the workshop. Participants are able to integrate their results with the rich knowledge behind the FIRO-B and begin the process of increasing understanding between team members.
ACTION FIRO-B Adventure Challenge: The group is put into pre-determined teams based on client objectives. Teams are then introduced to the action-based experiential initiatives. This is where teams are able to ‘try-on’ the learning of the FIRO-B and put new skills into action. Teams are briefed on the rules of the FIRO-B Adventure Challenge and then engage in a brief strategy session to prepare for the actual challenge.
The adventure begins as teams navigate through a series of problem-solving activities and exercises. All activities are customized to the learning objectives of the group. Each challenge provides the opportunity to earn performance revenues based on the team strategy employed. It’s not the fastest team that wins, but rather the smartest team!
MANAGE FIRO-B Management: The fast paced intensity of the FIRO-B Adventure Challenge provides the opportunity for teams to apply valuable lessons and insights of FIRO-B principles with the results of their experiential activities. These learning’s are used to put together an Individual or TEAM Action Plan. Strategies and actions are identified, developed and prioritized. Timelines and measurements are established to manage the on-going impact of the strategic initiatives based on FIRO-B preferences.
