Local Business Achieves Sales Honor

In early January, the team from Beckman Coulter decided to brave the wintry weather of Chicago to embark on a Mission Impossible Team Challenge. In Chicago for an annual meeting, the participants, most of whom were from various areas of the Midwest, engaged in competitive banter with one another as they busily strategized and formulated their plans to become the team who would garner the most revenue points!

As they got ready to hit the streets of Chicago, they bundled themselves from head to toe and dashed to the various Chicago destinations to solve their Mission Challenges. From historic sites in the Chicago Loop to bars in the fun and happening River North area, the teams braved the cold, made great memories and had a ton of fun!

Imagine over 800 managers from Audi decorating, stuffing and creating stuffed animals for kids whose parents in the US Military are soon to be deployed into hostile regions! It was an experience to remember as the Parts and Services managers of Audi dealerships came together for their annual meeting in San Diego. Over 400 stuffed animals – lions, tigers, bears and even moose – were put together with care by this wonderful team. Ultimately the animals were donated to Operation Gratitude, an organization that works across the military with pre-deployment battalions. Each of these animals are given to a child as a token from their parent who is getting ready to deploy. This precious gift created with care by the Audi team will last a lifetime and provide on-going support and love to the children of our military members while they are away.

The Manatee County Schools Migrant Workers staff kicked off the fall with a heartfelt charitable teambuilding challenge.  Working together across teams, participants engaged in thought-provoking and mind-expanding collaborative activities that earned them a basketful of household supplies for the Migrant Families of Manatee County.

This hard-working group of recipients were ever so gracious as they received items that make a huge difference in their daily lives. Our support goes out to all the Migrant Workers and Families who make such a difference in the lives of us all across the US.

Over 100 team members of AXIS Communications came together to roll up their sleeves, grab some tools, and build 20 bikes for a well-deserving group of kids from the Boys/Girls Clubs of Atlanta.  This high energy, collaborative, creative, and of course fun event kept the team on their toes as they maneuvered through a series of mind-stretching collaborative activities.  The program culminated with 20 kids arriving as a BIG surprise to the AXIS Team as well as the kids – many of whom did not know they were getting a brand new bike.

Mission Impossible: Mystery in South Beach
Miami, Florida

An international playing field of Deloitte Consultants arrived to the starting area with anticipation, excitement and wonder as they awaited the official start of the Amazing Adventure in South Beach.

Ready, set, go — teams hit the ground and sand running in search of each Race Location.  Too many to possibly get to within the official race time, it was strategy and smarts that determined the winning team.  From Lincoln Road Pedestrian Mall to Lummus Park to the many colorful sites of Ocean Drive, team members engaged in a series of Race Challenges that had them thinking, working together and ultimately having fun!

All were surprised at the end of the team building session when the kids personally received their bikes from the sales teams. It was the perfect ending for an afternoon of intensely competitive team exercises, learning how to better work together, and achieving an effective team balance.

The accounting department from Flexco of Downers Grove, IL competed in an afternoon of intensely collaborative team building activities to earn the pieces of a bike. The teams assembled and decorated their bikes for the lucky recipients from the West Cook County Boys/Girls Club.

What the Flexco employees didn’t know was that they would personally present the bikes to the kids at the end of the day. Both they and the kids were all smiles as the bikes and helmets were presented to each child. The kids could barely wait for the Flexco team to adjust the seats before heading out to the parking lot to try out their brand new bicycles.

Centennial Contractors national leadership team came together to package Care Packages for deployed troops overseas. Intensely collaborative team challenges kept the group on their toes and earned valuable supplies for their Care Packages. The result? The team gained insight into the importance of effective TEAM Balance when tackling new challenges and at the same time the group put their personal touches into each Care Package with a heartfelt greeting card of support for the military member who received their special gift.

From Fort Lauderdale Beach to the Intercoastal area of Hugh Taylor Birch Park, the competition was furious while teams raced with the objective of accruing performance revenues. What teams learned was “It’s not the fastest team that beat the competition; it’s the smartest team.” Strategy is key to success!
