The Chautauqua Trail Endurance Challenge is an intensely collaborative, high energy, and strategic program that provides team members to come together as a greater whole! Each team is challenged with a series of challenges that earns the team ‘pieces’ of the total TEAM puzzle. Overall success for the group depends on individual team performance. ALL teams must work effectively to bring their ‘piece of the TEAM puzzle’ to the final challenge.
Program Overview
Navigation:
Teams will be supplied with backpacks; supplies; maps and materials to accomplish a variety of challenges. The entire time period will require teams to travel to various points in the wilderness (using the trail system) to locate, solve, and document challenges. It is up to each team to manage their time and what challenges they decide to pursue.
Strategic Adventure Challenges:
These are 'timed collaborative activities' that require the team to effectively strategize, develop alternatives, plan for execution and still allow time for process improvement. The objective is to locate and complete as many of the activities as possible during the designated period of time.
Clue Challenges:
Teams will be given a number of 'Clue Challenges' that will lead them to various points of interest. Each location will uncover a 'cache' of team information AND/OR a require teams to engage in a Strategic Adventure Challenge.
Photo Challenges:
Each team will be required to document a series of photo challenges. This will require the ability to balance the 'big picture strategy' with 'focused attention'.
Final TEAM Challenge:
Each team will arrive to the finish area with information and clues that will uncover the final TEAM message.
Logistics
The Chautauqua Trail Endurance Challenge begins at the base of the majestic Flatirons in Chautauqua Park. From here there are a series of scenic loop trails that will take teams throughout the historic are of Chautauqua. A series of challenges will be presented within the field of play area that will earn teams the opportunity to accrue 'performance revenues'. It's not the fastest teams that win - it's the smartest teams. The key to success is collaboration across the entire TEAM.
